All of our active ingredients are backed by science and selected based on the American Academy of Dermatology’s acne treatment guidelines.

Benzoyl Peroxide: A powerful acne-fighting agent, Benzoyl Peroxide is the #1 dermatologist-recommended ingredient for acne treatment products.

Salicylic Acid: This beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) penetrates pores to dissolve debris and oil. Salicylic Acid helps prevent acne and unclog and minimize the appearance of pores.

Adapalene: The first FDA-approved topical retinoid, Adapalene is effective in combating stubborn acne and is used in treatments focused on long-term skin clarity.

Consult a dermatologist before using a scrub when you have active acne.

Scrubs can lead to more inflammation (increasing the risk of acne scars) and spread bacteria.

Using PanOxyl® and another topical acne medication (or scrub) at the same time may increase irritation and dryness.

If irritation does occur, use only one topical acne medication at a time (one product in the morning and the other in the evening).

Benzoyl Peroxide is a topical acne medication that’s antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and that clears pores.

Three of our products contain Benzoyl Peroxide in different concentrations: Acne Foaming Wash (10% Benzoyl Peroxide), Acne Treatment Bar (10% Benzoyl Peroxide), and Acne Creamy Wash (4% Benzoyl Peroxide). New products are launching soon, so be sure to keep an eye out on our All Products page.

Yes, PanOxyl washes and the Acne Treatment bar can be used for face, chest, shoulder, and back acne. Also, we designed our Acne Body Spray specifically for hard to reach areas. However with all of our products, you should avoid contact with the eyes, lips, and mouth.

We offer PanOxyl washes in different formulas and different strengths of Benzoyl Peroxide to suit different skin types.

Acne Foaming Wash and Acne Treatment Bar help treat and clear even the worst breakouts with 10% Benzoyl Peroxide, the maximum strength concentration available without a prescription. Acne Creamy Wash with 4% Benzoyl Peroxide is still powerful enough to fight acne, but it’s a gentler formulation containing three humectants and four emollients to help combat dryness.

As with any medication, ask your healthcare provider before using PanOxyl if you are pregnant or breast-feeding.

We do not recommend using PanOxyl® products after they have expired. Please check the expiration date stamped into the crimp on the top of the tube or printed on the bottom of the carton.

Both Benzoyl Peroxide and Salicylic Acid treat acne, but they work very differently.

Salicylic Acid exfoliates the skin to help unblock pores.

Benzoyl Peroxide, however, helps break the acne cycle by killing bacteria on the skin that cause acne. It also helps unclog pores, clears existing breakouts now, and stops emerging pimples before they form.

You don’t have to worry about skin bleaching with PanOxyl, but skin lightening can occur due to the exfoliating properties of our washes. When it comes to fabrics and hair, Benzoyl Peroxide can cause bleaching, so we recommend using a white towel when patting dry and avoiding your hairline.

Unfortunately, skin purging is always possible when you start a new acne treatment. That said, we recommend giving your PanOxyl products 4-6 weeks to work to their full potential. If you have more questions about skin purging, it’s best to consult with a dermatologist.

The “Where to Buy” page on our site will show you a list of all of our verified retailers. We’ve also enrolled select products in the Amazon Transparency Program, which places unique, scannable codes on the bottom of each product to confirm authenticity.

Good question! There are actually a few spots to check. Take a peek at the crimping at the top of the tube, beside the Drug Facts panel, and on the bottom of the packaging. FYI: Some products (like our patches and moisturizers) don’t have expiration dates printed on packaging.

Great question! All of our products can be used morning and night—but keep in mind that everyone’s skin is different. If you experience dryness or peeling, you should get in touch with a dermatologist for usage recommendations.

Your doctor knows best! Always consult with your physician before using new skincare products alongside prescription acne meds.

Everyone’s skin is different, so it’s best to talk with a dermatologist if you’re new to Benzoyl Peroxide. Best practice is to start with the lowest percentage and if irritation occurs, reduce usage.

All of our cleansers have moisturizing properties to help minimize dryness. If you already have dry skin, we recommend trying our Acne Gel Wash or Acne Creamy Wash. They’re both gentle and designed for daily use.

No, you definitely shouldn’t spray this on your face. Instead, try our Clarifying Exfoliant. It’s a lightweight, leave-on formula powered by 2% Salicylic Acid (just like the Banishing Body Spray)—but it’s designed for use on the face.

Absolutely! We recommend using moisturizer daily to help keep the skin barrier replenished and happy. Our Oil Control Moisturizer helps prevent excess oils from clogging pores, while our Balancing Repair Moisturizer helps reduce the look of pores and balance moisture levels overnight.

Yes, always! Our Oil Control Moisturizer features SPF 30, making it a great choice for daily sun care.

It’s always a good idea to check with your doctor before using multiple acne treatments at once. That said, Adapalene should not be used with products containing Alpha Hydroxy, Salicylic, or Glycolic acids, since they can worsen irritation.
